Day 2 of Axelrod Expedition(16-07-2016)

After a freezing restless night we awoke early this morning packed and headed out of langata onto the bypass and onto the Namanga Road heading toward Amboseli!! Extraordinary how the Nairobi “sprawl” has passed Kitengela but soon after Kajiado the magnificent vistas opened up and the scenic drive continued to Namanga and onward into Amboseli. Antelope and Gazelle frolicked this afternoon and then we spent time with Matriarch Gail and her herd of elephants most of whom were fast asleep until a big bull came to look them over bringing them all to their feet.  After a joyous time with these wonderful elephants we headed onward to discover that a cheetah mum and her young one had brought down a gazelle for dinner and so we spent time watching them feasting hurriedly ensuring that if any other predator came along to steal their kill they would have had their fill.
Tonight Paula joined us for dinner and it was most enjoyable discussing things “elephants”
